Tax Court Litigator with locations in Raleigh and Wilmington, NC & North Myrtle Beach and Myrtle Beach, SC works to stay current on all announcements and decisions concerning tax litigation to ensure we are fully informed and prepared for clients. **Tax Court Posts Announcement on COVID-19/Coronavirus:**On Monday, March 9, the Tax Court announced the following on its website: Considering recent announcements and media coverage regarding the COVID-19/Coronavirus, the U.S. Tax Court would like to assure the public that the Court is following recommended guidelines provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The announcement goes on to state that (1) effective March 9, 2020, and until further notice, out of an abundance of caution, the Court is encouraging social distancing and will therefore limit the number of people in the courtroom at any one time; (2) if an individual is required to appear in Court and is experiencing any flu like symptoms, has a fever, or is coughing or sneezing, the individual should contact the Court before appearing; (3) the Court will make reasonable accommodations and reschedule appearances, hearings, and trials as needed; and (4) if an individual has recently traveled from an area with widespread or ongoing community spread of COVID-19 and is having symptoms of the disease (fever, cough, shortness of breath), the individual should reach out to a healthcare provider for details on how to proceed with proper medical care.
